Cosy
Sunday, and nothing really fun to do or anything.
Made pancakes (the fluffy, American kind) using a recipe from BBC. For most recipes the first time is never really successful. In my overenthusiastic bid to fluff them up, I used self-raising flour AND baking powder AND baking soda, which made it bubble like crazy leading to one side being uneven and all. And it tasted alkaline. As in, you know, the taste of yellow noodles (they use alkaline potassium carbonate to treat the flour), the bitter aftertaste.
Ain't too bad though, but I guess I'd have to make some major modifications to the recipe. More egg as a surfactant to keep the batter consistently foamy? And possibly lemon juice to neutralise the alkalinity. And more butter. They're too dry.

I'm gonna go all cosy on my bed and read the library books I've read, and to play some of the CDs I've neglected so far. Plonking myself in front of the computer is starting to make me feel all jaded.
