Elephant Graveyard

Is this where the elephants go to die?
I don't see anyone.
Only the remains,
Of a sprightly majesty long gone.

And I bet he was a great beast,
I can imagine.
Only ravaged by age.
Groaning, then coughing, as dying engine.

Time heals all through its consuming flames,
With every passing day.
Only fiery tongues.
Good or bad the flames lick the same way.

And what am I doing here?
I wish I could say that I don't belong.
