Yet another random post
Geeeee, since I'm so behind in blogging, let's just screw it, I'm not going to blog according to chronology. But by random order. As in. When I postprocess my photos, collate the photos from 2 cameras and etc, things sorta get randomised. So that's the kinda order this entry is going to follow.
Ultimate X-men is a good read. Better than the Ultimate Fantastic Four I hafta admit. Maybe it's just that I can jump into the storyline straight, already knowing the characters, their motivations and all already. The Ultimate series is supposed to give a modern touch to the existing characters and stories, but somehow it's sorta weird to see Christina Augillera and Britney Spears references, and Scott Summers/Cyclops is portrayed way too beefily.
Friday was hot and sweltering and whatever adjectives you could throw at it.
Met Ryan, was planning to meet ferret later but she's busy. Made good use of my $50 OP voucher my gave me and bought clothing for Chinese New Year! And later in the day, Adidas running shoes that was a steal at $60 from Royal Sporting House.
No photos, until the first time I wear them, what's the thrill of Chinese New Year clothing if you see them BEFORE then?
Oh, and there's totally nothing to see in Chinatown Point. Unless you're older than age 40.
Coffee. From different days. Geeeee now I know why my sleeping patterns are so messed up! And that's excluding the coffee and tea and cola I gulp down on a daily basis.
As for some update on music:
1. Hellogoodbye - Ryan's crazy about it and sent me the whole album, curiously named Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! It might sound good on first listen, but the stifled electronica beats and weak melodies sorta suggest that they're like a seriously watered version of Taking Back Sunday. Or O-Zone mashed-up with Fountains of Wayne. It's not grating on the ears or anything, but it's the kind of forgettable B-grade kinda music that one doesn't really notice in the background. Here (in Your Arms) and All Time Lows has a good shot of being staples on the airwaves though.
2. The Long Blondes - Conghan recommends their debut album Someone to Drive You Home. Great on first listen. A very tight album that keeps up its perky beat. But somehow, on further listens, the continuously-perky beat gets on my nerves.
3. Junior Senior - Move Your Feet - A very unusual recommendation from Conghan, considering that he usually recommends me the usual indie/alternative rock kinda stuff. This Eurobeat track will sound familiar to most anyone who listens in to the popular hits in the UK and Europe in the past couple of years. Admittedly it's a very catchy track. Very nice, I like!
