Choppy waters
So it's the school hols and I usually spend my time zoning out in front of the computer being totally unproductive, blaring some rock music on the speakers, reading random articles on the net.
Wednesday afternoon. That run in the park was tough. There's this runner lady who runs quite fast and well, the egoistic me NEVER LETS ANY FEMALE OVERTAKE ME. Not on a bicycle, not on my feet, prolly not in a car either.
So I overexerted myself, then as a result of a complex cascade of biochemical and neurological events, I felt really down.
Stared at the buildings around me, and they looked big and scary. I mean, we don't really think about it, but boy, those buildings are huge.
Don't call me crazy yet. The 20 storey buildings are like, 30 times taller than you, 100 times wider than you in the other 2 dimensions. That's, um 300,000 times your size in terms of volume. The average person doesn't go around looking at buildings and thinking 'wow, they're so immensely huge compared to my little self', but hey, it's true.
There's some construction equipment draped over with a yellow canvas and I swore at that the point in time that I can imagine it morphing right before my eyes into something alive. It's crazy I know.
Exhaustion sucks.

But then, being a little psychotic is sometimes a good thing. It makes you creative. Like, when I feel particularly psychotic, I can have all sorts of absurd but interesting fantasies.
Such as writing a novel about a strange bacteria from space that eats the bitumen from the roads that cars drive on. Or about a global conspiracy to find religious images in wood grain so as to try to raise the status of their own religions.
When it happens, it takes me all of 2 seconds to think up such a plot.

Thursday was a mess. Things getting complicated, cold, and things have definitely changed for the worse.
I dunno what to do.

In other news, the travel agency called me. Normally I'm this absolutely socially inept person who's too pathetic to make any decisions, so yeah, I'm pretty glad I handled this smoothly. Thinking on my feet and weighing the pros and cons of decisions, that's something I learn in my years in medical school.
They decided to bump my family up to SIA instead of Cathay for no extra charge to even out the numbers between the 2 departure days, so I'm going form the 14th to 18th instead yay! And due to the new flight timings I'll get an extra 3 hours or so on HK! But then, I personally won't like SIA if they turn out to be racist indeed.
My impression is:
SIA = better in flight entertainment, better ground services, reputed for its racism against locals
Cathay = better food, cheaper (but that point is moot now)
But all in all, reviews on Epinions and all put both airlines in roughly the same league.

Forget it, I'm rambling. I'm not in a right state of mind.
