Not tonight dear, I'm having a headache......NOT
I'm nursing a headache right now, and not surprsingly I was nursing yet another headache last night. And last morning.
Not the usual kinda headache, but the kind that's localised to the frontal sinuses. And they're tender to touch. Ow. Together with the blocked nose and fatigue and foul mood I've been experiencing lately, it only means one thing - sinusitis.
Damn.
So. Friday I made waffles, Saturday I just lazed at home while reinstalling windows on my notebook (things getting slow and cluttered).
And for Sunday, it started with a morning jog which totally bombed, for I was totally exhausted and was more concerned about the raging throbbing pain in my sinuses.
There's these weird saplings growing in Bishan Park. When you pluck them out you see this black seed thingie at the bottom. Memories of pulling them out as a kid and grossing out at the black seed. And memories of those spongy mushrooms that grow in the grass, and memories of those little yellow flower weeds. Used to come across them walking around the Ang Mo Kio estate where I had lived as a kid.
Dang, I wanna be a kid again.

Then it's 11am, and met Ryan, my bestest pal! At City Hall MRT. I had to get that 1GB SD card as a free gift for buying the Canon printer, so we sheaded off to Funan. The place's in a minor mess from the renovations at one of the escalator wells, and after some difficulty, I finally found the place and got my memory card.
And food!
Thai Express, Citylink Mall. Green curry with seafood (that means sotong, prawns, fish, eggplant and potato, though I don't recall the latter 2 growing from the bottom of the ocean). Do not let its bland look deceive you, for it's so hot and flavourful, it deadly to say the least. Ryan got tom yam soup!
Due to the all-powerful spicy Thainess of the Thai food, lunch kept sloshing uncomfortably around in my stomach. I'm just not a spicy food kinda person. Sure, some things do go better spicy (after all, what's nasi lemak without the chilli? Or curry that tastes like milky soup?) but I prefer most things without chilli. I don't like the idea of drowning/poisoning/mutilating my food with that red burning substance if it doesn't make it taste better. I eat my fries with tomato ketchup. I ask for noodles without chilli. Though I'm a green chilli fiend (they're sour and pickly, not hot.)
Alas, Thai Express City Link didn't have the mango glutinous rice that I'd been looking for for so long. That stuff's great - although they don't advertise it on their leaflets or posters. Recalled eating it a couple of years back and surprisingly, it's great.
After a long jaunt around the area, we decided to try our luck in The Hunt For Mango Glutinous Rice.
Finally found a Thai Express where they sold it - that's the one in Raffles City Basement. The photos don't do justice to the food, but well, with something so sweet and coconuty and tasty, it's just perfect.
Ryan got this mango salad thingie. And after that, it was just a stroll around, just to catch up with things and, well, act like kids again.
Ryan had to leave early, and I didn't feel like going back yet, so I wandered around The Cathay aimlessly. They claim they have free wireless internet access, but sadly, it didn't work on my DS. Was feeling a little down then, so just took a seat in The Cathay and started playing a few Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan and Elite Beat Agents stages to cheer myself up.
It was on the way home when the headache returned. Ow.

Monday's boring lectures, boring tutorials (which I and half the class skipped) and after that I was off to Vivocity for shopping and all. Bought a red Adidas water bottle to replace my ageing and leaking one from 3 years ago. And as for other stuff, well, I'm still undecided to buy them!
Had a look in the game shop in the 3rd storey, and the Nintendo DS is selling for WAY cheaper than what it used to when I had bought it. Yikes. Saw the full-sized stylus, and it looks way too clunky. Was planning to get it originally, but I don't want a behemoth sticking from the back of my DS.
Oh and Pacific Coffee Company has free internet booths for customers there. The coffee ain't too great though, it has this weird stinging and stomach-churning effect that other coffees (fortunately) can't replicate. The taste's okay except for the fact that they were so stingy with the milk for the latte, it wasn't really a latte anymore.
Shopping list:
1. B-list T-shirts and collared T-shirts (i.e. cheap, not so nice-looking ones, for occasions that don't requre me to dress nicely)
2. Sandals (can't find cheap ones yet)
3. Those cute Mario capsule toy keychains I've mentioned
4. Well, that's about all
Gotta keep a lookout for those stuff!
Home, and the evil headache ravaged my head again. Usual cocktail of Panadol and coffee, but somehow, this doesn't work half as well on sinus pain than on the usual migranes/tension-type headaches. Ouch.
I feel tired and under the weather, so at least I've got something to blame for my foul mood and exhaustion.
